Performances and classroom
needs
Our orchestra is a performing art
and as such, the greatest
experience and confidence our
students gain is through
performances outside of the
classroom. These great
opportunities for outside
performances are unfortunately
not without a price tag. Your
contribution will assist us in
maintaining a high level of quality
by helping us purchase much
needed equipment for our
orchestra at school. We need
sheet music, replacement strings
and accessories, new
instruments, orchestra
equipment, preparation and
distribution of our newsletter,
concert programs and fliers. It will
also help defray the costs of a
annual class trip (for both a
performance and fun). This year
we are going to Hershey Park in
May. Some of our orchestra
students may not be able to
afford this trip without your
contribution.

The Carl Sandburg Middle School Orchestras Need replacement instruments: Bass, Cello,
and Violins.
We are an award winning middle school orchestra with little funds and are in desperate
need of instruments for our students to play in and outside of class.
Our current instruments are aging and are becoming difficult to play.
We are looking for patrons to donate their instruments and/ or assist us in buying new
ones. We also need new bows and strings, for our instruments.
A new Bass instrument costs about $1500
A new bow costs about $80
Strings for an instrument costs about $100

of:
String Ensemble, intermediate
Concert Orchestra, intermediate advanced
Symphonic Orchestra, advanced
