Symphonic Trip to National Airport - , 22 April 2010
Symphonic will be performing at the National Airport along with the band and choir
celebrating our partnership with the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority. Details will
follow in the next few weeks but here is what I have thus far:
April 22, 2010
Students will stay after school to rehearse and have an afternoon snack.
Depart Sandburg at 4:30
Arrive at the airport at 5:30 for set up/warm-up
6:00 pm Prelude Music: Orchestra performs during appetizers and refreshments.
6:30 pm Program commences with Orchestra and Choir perform
“God Bless America”
Speeches/presentations
Jazz Band
8:00 Load up
8:30 Return to Sandburg
Parent volunteer drivers will be needed.

The orchestras are getting busy, please mark your calendars for upcoming events and

This year funding for our music program was reduced significantly. Parents- we welcome
your participation in events that help us raise money toward maintaining and improving our
award winning orchestra program. Boosters/Patrons page.

replacing.
Advocacy-Fairfax County Public Schools is proposing to cut our elementary school music
